I am passionate about 21st Century education that develops the whole child. My journey in education started in the progressive education system of New Zealand. I was employed as a secondary school teacher in science and physics. However, I extended my range of skills into areas of assessment, advising and research.
Over the past 10 years my employment has enabled me to conduct extensive primary and secondary and research into the most effective ways to achieve the best educational outcomes for students. From 2009 till 2015 I was employed as an educational adviser in ABU Dhabi. I was able to deliver professional development that transformed traditional teachers into effective student centric teachers.
I applied this experience and extensive secondary researchas head of R&D in Chrysalis at Chennai. At Chrysalis, I developed a pedagogical framework incorporating the best of this experience and research into a programme that was integrated into the classroom. The programme has been validated by comparison with similar programmes that have been developed such as by ‘The Centre for Curriculum Redesign’ at Harvard; and examination by experts in the UK, Japan and New Zealand, in particular.
My interest now lies in working with progressive schools seeking to produce citizens of tomorrow. These citizens will possess 21st century skills and be critical and creative thinkers able to adapt to the unknown challenges of the future.
